The Society's programs are held on the first Sunday of most months and are devoted to historically significant topics of regional interest. Please call 707.224.1739 for upcoming program topics. In the summer of 2006, Mr. William Roop of Archaeological Resource Service and an NCHS member directed the Creekside Archaeological Project in Santa Rosa. This project, the subject of the talk on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at the Napa County Historical Society, examined the history of the Maria Carrillo adobe and the adjacent Pomo village site. The work revealed that the adobe headquarters of the Rancho Cabeza de Santa Rosa was built on the remnant of an ill-fated attempt to build a Franciscan mission in Santa Rosa.
3rd Annual Book & Abandoned Treasures Sale

Join us during the 2008 Wine and Crafts Faire for our third annual Book & Rummage Sale. Due to cold weather in December, we have changed the date of our sale. This is one of the Society’s annual fundraisers and you can help in two ways: 1) Donate your old books and “white elephants” to the Society (Tuesdays-Thursdays 12-4 p.m. Society staff determines whether the items will be accepted for sale.) and 2) Stop by on Sept. 13th to see what treasures you can find.

In It Came From Berkeley, Dave Weinstein tells the story of this unique city from its beginnings to the present day by focusing on the events and people that made Berkeley into the famous and infamous place that it continues to be. Join us to learn about the intriguing history of a neighborhood just around the bay.

20th Annual Holiday Candlelight Tour

Presented in partnership with Napa County Landmarks, the Napa County Historical Society invites you to join us for a holiday tour of Napa's architectural treasures.
